Pick a corner. Any corner.
Throughout a stellar four-year varsity hockey career at Brother Rice, Ryan Hanacek has excelled at firing pucks into any one of the four corners of the net.
He can go high or low. Left side or right side. His snapshot has no bias, other than having a tendency to land in the back of the net.
“Ryan has a great shot,” Brother Rice coach Paul Manning said. “His accuracy is unbelievable. He’s a goal scorer.”
The numbers back up Manning. Hanacek, a senior center, scored 25 goals and added 17 assists during a 22-game Catholic League season. His 42 points placed him fourth in the prestigious league’s scoring list.
While Hanacek boasts natural skills, he’s also worked hard at his craft.
