On Saturday, February 17, 2018, the track and field team competed in the Thornton Invite. The Crusaders were champions at the frosh-soph level, beating runner-up Eisenhower 100-47.
Giacomo Iraci won the 300m dash in a frosh-soph school record time and also won the 60m dash. Ronan Dolan set the frosh-soph school record for the indoor long jump, won the triple jump, and placed 2nd in the 300. Other event champions include the 4×200 relay team of Malachi Dameron, Jacquez Young, Dwayne Moorehead, and Adrian Campos; Mikey Corcoran in the 600; Liam McElligott in the 60 high hurdles; and Harrison Morg in the 800.
Second place finishes came from Mike Davis in the shot put and the 4×400 team of Morg, Corcoran, Dameron and Joe Eloby. The varsity team placed 4th, only two points out of second. Event champions were Brian McElligott in the 600 and Dan Spellman in the 1600.
The team will compete in the ICOPS Invite at Lewis University on Sunday, February 25.
