On Sunday, April 26, the Brother Rice bass team had a Cross-town Classic against Marist. Marist secured the site and challenged the Crusaders on their home waters of Lake Katherine in Palos Heights. The Brother Rice team readily accepted the challenge.
With temperatures in the 30’s, the team arrived at the lake and began fishing at 7:00 A.M. Senior Adan Magnan struck first, weighing the Crusaders first keeper bass. The format was each school’s best 5 fish.
The tournament ended at noon with many fish being caught. After the tension settled, the Crusaders ended up on top, out fishing the Redhawks 7.1 pounds to their 4.3. Pat Nielsen caught the biggest bass for the day.
