Baseball – April 30
The varsity baseball team defeated St. Rita 13-3 in CCL Blue action. Dillan Fike led the Crusaders going 3-3 and Patrick Hayes added key hits and great defensive plays. Mike Hopkins added a big day at the plate, and Joey Payton got the win.
The sophomore baseball team got a huge win versus St. Rita 4-3. Colin Campbell was the star, throwing 6 strong innings, and Dylan Robertson got the huge save. Big RBI’s by Jack O’ Leary and Alex Roche while Matt Rascop had another web gem in center field.
The freshman baseball team took it on the chin versus the St. Rita Mustangs 16-6. Nick Cipriani led the Crusaders in defeat with 2 hits, 2 runs batted in, and a stolen base.
Baseball – May 1
The baseball program was back in action as rivalry week continued for the Crusaders. The varsity team defeated St. Rita 4-1 as Ryan Palmblad was brilliant on the mound. Jack Payton delivered a big triple to lead the Crusaders to victory. Lou Latino came in the game in the 7th to close out the win as he has ice in the veins.
The sophomore team got a huge comeback win 6-5 over the Mustangs. Sebastian Barrera stepped up with 5 strong innings. Nate Sobek and Dylan Robertson were outstanding in relief. Jacob Sullivan and Connor King added huge 2 RBI doubles.
The freshman baseball team completed the sweep defeating St. Rita 12-11. Nick Cipriani was again clutch as he went 4 for 4 with the game winning hit. Ben Somers and Jeremiah Powell were big in the win with huge offensive days. Thomas Hermanson closed out the Mustangs providing wonderful relief innings.
Volleyball – May 1
In volleyball action, the Crusaders were victorious over the Mustangs of St. Rita on 3 out of 4 levels.
The freshmen A and B teams both went 3 games and won tight matches. Standout performances were turned in by Marty McKee for the A team and Danny Farritor for the B team.
The sophomore team took another 3 game loss to the chin, 19-25, 25-21, 22-25. Nick Reidy had a nice night with 8 kills.
The varsity defeated the Mustangs 25-13, 25-23. This victory gave the Crusaders the outright CCL title. This is the program’s 8th straight title! Tommy Kleist had 19 digs and Matt O’Donnell chipped in 21 assists for the winning effort.
