On Thursday, October 15, 2015, the freshman kickers suited up against arch rival Marist. The Redhawks opened scoring early in the half with a goal past keeper Neil Sloyan. With 10 minutes left in the first half, defender Tom Gallagher made an outlet pass to Keith Gnady, who sent the ball to striker Matt Funk. Funk touched the ball and collided with the goalie as the ball harmlessly bounced into the goal to tie the game.
Marist bounced back with a goal in the second half with 30 mph winds at their back as the Redhawks defeated the Crusaders 2-1.
Congratulations to Carlos Gonzalez, who scored his 16th and 17th goals of the season. Quinn Brosnahan scored his first. It was all for naught, however, as the Kicking Crusaders fell to the Dons of Notre Dame of Niles 4-3.
The Kicking Crusaders returned to the winning side of the ledger on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, during their Chicago Catholic League game with St. Rita. Carlos Gonzalez had a hat trick, Oscar Garcia had a goal and Trevor Piper two assists in the 4-1 victory over the Mustangs.
The sophomore kickers regained their glory by coming back from an early 1-0 deficit against St. Rita, also. The Crusaders roared back to earn a 3-2 victory led by Matt Reidy, who scored once, and by Jack Forden, who had two goals. Outstanding performances were turned in by John Mattes, Dan Caufield, and Anthony McElroy.

Homecoming weekend festivities continued Saturday morning when Francis W. Parker High School travelled to Gary Little Stadium to take on the Kicking Crusaders.
The Colonels were giving our boys all they could handle through 75 minutes of play when Carlos Gonzalez worked the ball from the left flank through the middle to the right flank, where he hit a low, hard, right-footed shot to beat the keeper for the game winner.
Crusader goalkeeper Raul Andrade earned the shutout. Donald Mascio, Joe Kopale and Dylan Keaty provided valuable support off the bench for the 1-0 win.
The Bulldogs of Riverside Brookfield came to visit Gary Little Stadium on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, and left with a 3-0 victory over our Kicking Crusaders. Quinn Brosnahan, Trevor Piper, and Xavier Perez played well in this match up with a top contender for placement at the state finals.
The Christian Brothers Cup was up for grabs last night, and senior Carlos Gonzalez scored two goals to lead the Kicking Crusaders to a 2-1 victory over the Vikings of St. Laurence and take possession of the Cup for the next year. Carlos has now scored 8 goals in 7 games. In two cup competitions this season, the Crusaders have twice brought the trophy home.
The freshman kickers started up their season on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, against Andrew High School. After a slow start, the Crusaders showed better aggressiveness in the second half, spending more time on Andrew’s side of the field with several quality chances on goal. It wasn’t enough and BR fell 3-0. The Crusaders look to bounce back Friday with a road game at St Pat’s.
