Summer is right around the corner, and that means it’s time to hit the links. Brother Rice has a number of golf outing opportunities that are sure to appeal to every golfer.
Brother Rice staff members are directly involved with hosting two outings in the summer, along with a team of hard working Alumni Association and CAAC volunteers – the Alumni Golf Outing (AGO), and the Crusader Alumni Athletic Club (CAAC) outing. The proceeds from both of these events raise upwards of $60,000 annually for a combination of school improvements, alumni office expenses, community fund raisers, and Junior of the Year scholarships.
The 29th Annual All-Alumni Golf Outing (AGO 2014) will be held at Gleneagles Country Club in Lemont on Friday, June 20, 2014. Back-to-back shotgun starts begin at 8:00 A.M.
You can download the participation and sponsorship forms for this year’s AGO. Remember, ALL ALUMNI are invited to bring friends and family foursomes or to sign up as a single or twosome, and stay for an outstanding buffet dinner. Please decide soon to place your reservation for the morning (7:30 A.M. registration) or the afternoon (12:30 P.M. registration) shotgun start.
The Crusader Alumni Athletic Club will host its 4th annual golf outing on Friday, August 8, at Water’s Edge Golf Club. A shotgun start will begin at 1:30 P.M. Included in the cost is a buffet dinner and two hour open bar at The Edge Bar and Grill located at the course. Prizes will be given out for several on-course events – closest to the pin, beat the pro, and much more!
You can also attend the dinner and party afterwards even if you choose not to golf, which includes all you can eat and drink for 2 hours to start after golf at approximately 6:30 P.M. There is a $35 fee which can be paid by registering below or at the door.
Additionally, there are three other outings that also provide vital scholarship funds to Brother Rice students, which are organized and supported by hard working teams of volunteers.
- The Brendan Murrihy Memorial Golf Outing – July 12
- The Bruce Sloan Memorial Golf Outing – August 8
- James Ryan O’Donnell Memorial Golf Outing – September 13
Another outing that greatly supports the school, hosted by staff and dedicated members of the Foundation Committee is the Foundation Classic. The date for this event is yet to be determined.
The Foundation has been organized to raise funds to support the goals of Brother Rice High School to educate young men in the Chicago area consistent with the mission of Blessed Edmund Rice. The Foundation will raise funds in various ways but will focus on donors and anniversary classes who can make significant contributions. Once the Foundation raises $500,000, distributions will be based on the greatest needs of the school.
We cannot adequately thank the hard working volunteers, the foursome organizers, and our generous sponsors and donors. There has never been a better time to raise funds for the young men of Brother Rice.
