After going down state last year, the bowling team has big expectations for the upcoming season. But with the departure of Steve Marszeliek, a key part to their success last year, the Crusaders are looking for returning bowlers to step up. Some of those key bowlers returning are seniors Ryan Messina, Kyle Singer, and Russ Stanton. Underclassmen returning include junior Chris Ulrich, and sophomores Chris Roty, and Billy Fortsche.
With last year’s success, Coach Daniher is expecting big things from the team this season. “After winning sectionals and going down state last year, I’d be disappointed if we don’t win Catholic League and go downstate”, says Daniher. To win Catholic League will be tough for the Crusaders. They’ll have to dethrone St. Pat’s first, and fight off De Le Salle and St. Laurence who always prove to be tough opponents. It’s going to be a tough challenge, but Coach Daniher thinks they can do it. “We only lost one from last year’s team, so were returning most of our team so we should compete.”
The Crusaders are coached by Mr. Daniher, Mr. Hartigan, and Mr. Mcaulife. The Crusaders are primed to have an excellent season with all that is returning to this year’s team. Hopefully the Crusaders live up to their lofty expectations and have a great year.
