The lacrosse coaching staff has announced that the varsity and JV teams will travel to New Orleans for a week in April to take on the Louisiana state champions and runner-up.
Expectations are high after finishing with the first winning record (12-8) in school history last season. “We have improved as a program every year. Playing a difficult schedule has allowed us to play a higher level of competition against teams from different parts of the country,” said Coach Chris Hilliard. “It also gives our players the opportunity to be recruited by colleges that normally would not travel to Chicago. It is a great opportunity for our players and coaches.”
Senior Jack Quinn, captain and defenseman said, “This trip should really give us an opportunity to see how the team matches up with some different and more challenging competition. We have improved so much over the past three years, and I think this senior class can get us where we need to go. It’s also going to give us a chance to grow closer as a team.”
Senior Andrew Jordan, captain and midfielder commented, “We have a great opportunity to grow in New Orleans. Seeing new teams and new playing styles will only help us grow as a team and make us better players for the competitive Chicago Catholic League.”
